gas at ~18psi and they spool up rather quickly with the supersplit downpipes. I think it's an excellent turbo for the money, but be advised if you buy them in their "stock" form from Garrett you'll have to perform some fabrication on the actuator and clock the turbo to have it fit correctly on our engine. The compressor inlet will most likely be a hose inlet, so you'll have to convert that to a 2-bolt inlet or slightly modify your intake piping to fit and use silicon couplers.
